Follow The Directions

01

Step
10 mins

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the pork and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes. Transfer the pork to a bowl and set aside.

02

Step
10 mins

In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the shredded cabbage and cook, stirring frequently, until it begins to wilt, about 5 minutes. Add the diced onion and continue to cook, stirring often, until the onion becomes translucent, approximately 5 more minutes.

03

Step
3 mins

Sprinkle the vegetables with caraway seeds, salt, and black pepper to taste. Pour 1/2 cup of chicken broth into the skillet. Increase the heat to medium-high and cook until the broth has nearly evaporated, about 3 minutes. Then, pour in the remaining 1 cup of chicken broth.

04

Step
10 mins

Return the browned pork to the skillet. Add the diced red and green bell peppers. Cover the skillet and cook until the peppers start to soften, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure even cooking and prevent sticking.

For a richer flavor, use bone-in pork shoulder and slow-cook for a longer period. Adjust seasonings to your liking.
Serve this dish with egg noodles or spaetzle for a complete and satisfying meal.
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the dish while cooking the vegetables.
