For a richer flavor, use bourbon barrel-aged maple syrup. If you don't have a springform pan, a regular pie dish can be used, but it may be more difficult to remove the pie. The candied bacon can be made a day ahead of time and stored in an airtight container. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
