Follow The Directions

01

Step
3 mins

In a large skillet, melt butter with olive oil over medium-high heat. (2 minutes)

02

Step
5 mins

Add minced garlic and thinly sliced shallots. Sauté until lightly browned and fragrant, being careful not to burn. (3-4 minutes)

03

Step
2 mins

Add the shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Stir in the diced sun-dried tomatoes. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp turn pink and begin to brown. (Approximately 5 minutes)

04

Step
5 mins

Pour Cognac into the skillet, being cautious of potential flames. Stir to deglaze the pan, loosening any browned bits from the bottom. Allow the Cognac to reduce slightly, intensifying its flavor. Continue to cook until the mixture boils. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Reduce heat to low. Gently stir in the half-and-half. Simmer until the sauce slightly thickens, coating the back of a spoon. (Approximately 5 minutes)

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a squeeze of fresh lemon juice at the end.
Be careful when adding Cognac to the hot pan, as it can ignite. Have a lid ready to smother any flames if necessary.
Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your preference for heat.
Serve immediately over your choice of pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
