Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a durable, resealable bag (freezer-safe recommended), combine the rice noodles, peanuts, freeze-dried vegetables, powdered peanut butter, chicken bouillon, freeze-dried cilantro, chia seeds, salt, garlic powder, ginger, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Seal the bag tightly, removing as much air as possible to prevent crushing during transport. (2 minutes)

03

Step

At your campsite, carefully pour 1 cup of boiling water into the bag. (1 minute)

04

Step

Mix the contents thoroughly to ensure all ingredients are well-hydrated. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Seal the bag again and let it stand for 10-12 minutes, or until the noodles and vegetables are tender and have absorbed most of the water. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. (12 minutes)

06

Step

Once reconstituted, open the bag carefully (it will be hot!) and enjoy your delicious backpacking Pad Thai noodles straight from the bag. (1 minute)

For optimal flavor, use high-quality freeze-dried vegetables and powdered peanut butter.
Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to your preferred spice level.
If you prefer a saucier dish, add a bit more boiling water.
Consider adding a squeeze of lime juice (carry a small bottle) for extra tanginess.
Ensure your noodles are thin rice noodles that cook quickly. Thicker noodles may require a longer rehydration time.
Pack a long-handled spoon or spork for easy eating directly from the bag.

The chia seeds are a great addition for extra nutrients and a slightly thicker sauce.
