For a smokier flavor, add 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika to the sauce mixture. If you prefer a sweeter barbeque sauce, use a sauce with honey or molasses as a base. To thicken the sauce after cooking, remove the chicken, then whisk 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water. Stir into the sauce in the slow cooker, and cook on high for 15-20 minutes, or until thickened. Leftover barbeque chicken is excellent in sandwiches, quesadillas, or as a topping for baked potatoes.

Feb 28, 2024I was worried about the chicken drying out, but it was so moist and tender. Will definitely make again!

Nov 29, 2023Next time, I'll try adding some chopped onions and bell peppers to the slow cooker for added veggies and flavor.
