Follow The Directions

01

Step
2 mins

In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs until light yellow and slightly frothy. Stir in the granulated garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined. (2 minutes)

02

Step
3 mins

In a separate small bowl, gently toss together the chopped spinach, shredded Muenster cheese, and finely chopped onion to ensure an even mixture. (3 minutes)

03

Step
5 mins

Evenly distribute the spinach, cheese, and onion mixture among the cavities of a silicone egg mold. Carefully pour the beaten egg mixture into each cavity, filling each about 3/4 full to allow for expansion during cooking. Cover the mold tightly with aluminum foil to prevent excess moisture from entering. (5 minutes)

04

Step
1 mins

Pour 1/2 cup of water into the inner pot of your multi-functional pressure cooker (such as an Instant Pot). Gently place the prepared egg mold inside the pot. (1 minute)

05

Step
1 mins

Close and lock the Instant Pot lid, ensuring the vent is sealed. Select the 'Steam' function and set the timer for 13 minutes. (1 minute)

06

Step
40 mins

Once the cooking cycle is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 to 40 minutes, according to the manufacturer's instructions. This natural release helps the egg bites set properly and prevents them from deflating. (10-40 minutes)

For a smoother texture, consider blending the spinach with the eggs using an immersion blender.
Experiment with different cheese and vegetable combinations to customize the flavor to your liking. Try adding diced bell peppers, mushrooms, or Gruyere cheese.
If you don't have a silicone egg mold, you can use oven-safe ramekins. Be sure to grease them well to prevent sticking.
These egg bites can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat them in the microwave or oven until warmed through.

The natural pressure release is key to getting the right texture. I tried a quick release once, and they were a bit rubbery.

I've tried other Instant Pot egg bite recipes, but this one is by far the best. The texture is perfect, and the flavor is amazing!
