Follow The Directions

01

Step

Prepare the Pan: Grease an 8-inch square baking pan. Line with 2 pieces of parchment paper, each about 14 inches long, allowing the ends to overhang on two opposite sides. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Combine and Heat Ingredients: In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, white sugar, unsalted butter, evaporated milk, and salt. Stir until the mixture forms a thick, smooth syrup. Attach a candy thermometer to the saucepan, ensuring it doesn't touch the bottom, and bring to a boil. (10 minutes)

03

Step

Cook to Soft-Ball Stage: Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook until the center of the mixture reaches 238°F (112°C), stirring often. Monitor the temperature closely, as it will rise slowly at first and then more quickly. (20-30 minutes)

04

Step

Incorporate Irish Cream and Vanilla: Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the Irish cream liqueur and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Beat in Confectioners' Sugar: Transfer the mixture to the bowl of a large stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Gradually add the confectioners' sugar in 3 additions, mixing on low speed until each addition is fully incorporated before adding the next. Scrape the sides of the bowl frequently. Continue to beat until the fudge is completely smooth, about 2 minutes. (5 minutes)

06

Step

Cool and Set: Transfer the fudge to the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Place the pan on a level surface to cool and set up completely. (3-5 hours)

07

Step

Slice and Serve: Once the fudge is firm, lift it out of the baking pan using the parchment paper overhangs as handles. Slice into cubes and serve. (5 minutes)

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding chopped pecans or walnuts to the fudge after beating in the confectioners' sugar.
Ensure your candy thermometer is accurate for the best results. Test it in boiling water to confirm it reads 212°F (100°C).
Store the fudge in an airtight container at room temperature to maintain its texture and flavor.

I love the taste of it. But it was way too sweet for me. Next time I will reduce the sugar amount.

I added a pinch of sea salt on top before it set and it really enhanced the flavor.
