Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease the bottom and halfway up the sides of an 8x8-inch glass baking dish. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Drain thawed blueberries; transfer to a medium mixing bowl. Sprinkle with white sugar and lemon juice; gently combine. Layer berries evenly in the prepared baking dish. (10 minutes)

03

Step

Mix oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg together in a separate bowl. Cut in butter with 2 knives or a pastry blender until the mixture is crumbly; sprinkle evenly over the berries. (10 minutes)

04

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown and bubbly, 40 to 45 minutes. Let cool slightly before serving warm. (45 minutes)

For an extra layer of flavor, try adding a tablespoon of almond extract to the blueberry mixture.
If you don't have an 8x8 inch baking dish, a similar sized dish will work just fine.
The crisp can be assembled ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking. Add about 10 minutes to the baking time if baking directly from the refrigerator.
