For a richer flavor, use browned butter. Let the butter cool slightly before pouring the batter over it. Fresh or frozen blackberries can be used. If using frozen, do not thaw them before adding to the batter. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra special treat.
