Follow The Directions

01

Step
2 mins

In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat. (2 minutes)

02

Step
10 mins

Add the cubed potatoes, chopped onion, and parsley to the boiling water. Reduce heat to medium and simmer gently until the potatoes are tender, about 10-15 minutes.

03

Step
7 mins

Gently add the cubed cod fillets to the simmering broth. Continue to cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

04

Step
1 mins

Squeeze in the fresh lemon juice. Season with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. (1 minute)

05

Step

Ladle the Ukha into bowls and serve immediately. Garnish with extra parsley if desired.

For a richer flavor, use fish stock instead of water.
Consider adding a bay leaf or a few peppercorns to the broth while simmering for added depth.
Adjust the amount of lemon juice, salt, and pepper to your preference.
Fresh dill or chives make excellent garnishes as well.
