Follow The Directions

01

Step

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a rolling boil. Add the angel hair pasta and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water. (10 minutes)

02

Step

In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Sauté the sliced mushrooms until softened and lightly browned. Season with salt to taste. Remove from skillet and set aside. (8 minutes)

03

Step

In the same large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-low heat. Gently cook the butterflied shrimp until pink and opaque, being careful not to overcook. Season with salt to taste. Remove from skillet and set aside. (5 minutes)

04

Step

In the same large skillet, melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Sauté the chopped shallots until softened and translucent. Pour in the port wine and dry white wine. Allow the mixture to simmer over medium-low heat until slightly reduced. Add the heavy cream and continue to simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency. (15 minutes)

05

Step

Stir in the sautéed mushrooms, cooked shrimp, crushed garlic, salt, sugar, and ground white pepper into the creamy sauce. Gently toss with the cooked angel hair pasta until well coated. Serve immediately. (5 minutes)

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese makes a wonderful garnish for this dish.
Adjust the amount of garlic and white pepper to suit your personal preference.
Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
