Preheat a large sauté pan over medium-high heat. (2 minutes)

Lightly coat both sides of salmon fillets with cooking spray. Place the salmon in the hot pan and sear for 4 minutes to develop a golden-brown crust.

Flip the salmon, cover the pan, and cook for another 4 minutes, or until the salmon is almost cooked through.

In a bowl, whisk together the water, crushed pineapple (with its juice), and 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce until well combined.

Pour the pineapple mixture over the salmon in the pan. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

In a separate small bowl, stir together the pineapple preserves, Asian sweet chili sauce, and the remaining 2 teaspoons of teriyaki sauce.

Spoon this glaze evenly over the salmon fillets, cover the pan, and remove from the heat. Let the salmon stand, covered, for 1 to 2 minutes to allow the glaze to set and the flavors to fully infuse.

For a beautiful presentation, garnish with fresh cilantro and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds before serving.
Ensure not to overcook the salmon. It should be moist and slightly translucent in the center.
Serve over a bed of rice or quinoa to soak up the delicious sauce.
