Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Line a square baking pan with aluminum foil. (5 minutes)

In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, bacon bits, and garlic. Stir in cooked sausage and season with salt and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined. (10 minutes)

Scoop sausage mixture into the pepper halves; press lightly to pack. Place in the prepared pan. (10 minutes)

Bake until stuffing has hardened slightly on the top, 18 to 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with Cheddar cheese. (20 minutes)

Let sit for 5 minutes before removing from the pan. (5 minutes)

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sausage mixture.
Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese, such as Monterey Jack or mozzarella.
