Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. (3 minutes)

03

Step

In a large bowl, lightly beat the eggs. Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, shortening, and peanut butter. Mix until well blended and fluffy. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing well after each addition. The dough should appear slightly dry and crumbly at this stage. (7 minutes)

05

Step

Add the mashed bananas and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. (3 minutes)

06

Step

Roll dough into small, walnut-sized balls. Place on ungreased baking sheets. (10 minutes)

07

Step

Using a fork, gently press a criss-cross pattern into each cookie. Dip the fork in flour between cookies to prevent sticking. (5 minutes)

08

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until the edges are golden brown, approximately 10-12 minutes. (12 minutes)

09

Step

Let the cookies cool completely on the baking sheets for at least 20 minutes before drizzling. (20 minutes)

10

Step

Once cooled, drizzle chocolate syrup over each cookie. (5 minutes)

For an extra nutty flavor, toast the peanut butter in a dry skillet over medium heat until fragrant before adding it to the dough. Be careful not to burn it!
Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and moisture.
Don't overbake the cookies! They should be slightly soft in the center when you take them out of the oven.
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
