For a richer flavor, use browned butter instead of softened butter. Allow the browned butter to cool slightly before creaming with the sugars. If you prefer a chewier cookie, slightly underbake them. They will continue to set as they cool. Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
