Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

In a large stockpot, combine the vegetable broth, sea salt, brown sugar, peppercorns, rosemary, sage, and thyme. (5 minutes)

02

Step
10 mins

Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until the salt and sugar are completely dissolved. (10 minutes)

03

Step
1 hrs 30 mins

Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature. This is crucial for food safety. (1-2 hours)

04

Step
5 mins

In a clean, food-grade 5-gallon bucket, combine the cooled broth mixture, cold water, and apple cider vinegar. Stir well to combine. (5 minutes)

05

Step
5 mins

Add the quartered apples, quartered onion, Worcestershire sauce, and peeled garlic cloves to the brine. (5 minutes)

For best results, brine the turkey for 12-24 hours in the refrigerator. Ensure the turkey is fully submerged in the brine.
If you don't have a 5-gallon bucket, use a large cooler. Make sure it's clean and food-safe.
Adjust the herbs to your liking. Fresh herbs can also be used; double the amount if using fresh.
To safely dispose of the brine after use, discard it down the drain with plenty of water.
