Follow The Directions

01

Step

Combine potatoes, onion, garlic, cream of celery soup, corn, lima beans, broth, white wine and lemon-pepper seasoning. (Prep time: 15 minutes)

02

Step

Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 6 to 7 hours or on high-heat setting for 3 to 3 1/2 hours. (Cook time: 3-7 hours)

03

Step

Meanwhile, thaw fish if frozen. Rinse fish; pat dry with paper towels. (Prep time: 5 minutes)

04

Step

Place fish on the mixture in the cooker. If using low-heat setting, turn to high-heat setting. Cover and cook for 1 hour more. (Cook time: 1 hour)

05

Step

Add undrained tomatoes and nonfat dry milk powder to cooker, stirring gently to break up the fish. Carefully remove lid to allow steam to escape. (Cook time: 5 minutes)

06

Step

Serve directly from slow cooker liner using a wooden or plastic utensil. Do not lift or transport liner with food inside. Cool slow cooker completely; remove liner and toss.

For a richer flavor, consider searing the fish fillets in a pan with a little butter before adding them to the slow cooker.
A splash of heavy cream or a dollop of sour cream stirred in just before serving can elevate the chowder to new heights of decadence.
Feel free to experiment with different types of fish, such as haddock, pollock, or even salmon, to create your own signature version.
Garnish with fresh parsley or dill for a burst of freshness and visual appeal.

I added a bay leaf to the slow cooker for extra flavor, and it turned out amazing!

Be careful not to overcook the fish, or it will become dry and crumbly.
