For an extra glossy finish, add a teaspoon of light corn syrup to the mixture while melting. If you don't have a double boiler, a heatproof glass bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water works just as well. Just be sure the bottom of the bowl doesn't touch the water. The hardened glaze can be a bit brittle. For easier slicing, let the glazed cake/brownies sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes before cutting. Feel free to experiment with different types of chocolate, such as dark chocolate or milk chocolate, to customize the flavor to your liking.

Nov 16, 2022My first time making a hard chocolate glaze and it was a success! The tips were very helpful, especially the one about not letting the bowl touch the water.
