Follow The Directions

01

Step

Prepare the Chicken: Slice chicken tenders in half lengthwise to create thinner pieces. Gently prick the chicken with a fork or knife to aid tenderization. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Marinate: In a large bowl, resealable container, or zip-top bag, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, grated ginger, fish sauce, and lime juice. Add the chicken tenders, ensuring they are fully coated in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight for maximum flavor. (2 hours minimum, ideally overnight)

03

Step

Prepare the Grill: Preheat an outdoor grill to high heat. Lightly oil the grill grate to prevent sticking. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Skewer the Chicken: Remove the chicken from the marinade and thread onto metal skewers, ensuring each skewer is evenly loaded. (10 minutes)

05

Step

Make the Glaze: Pour the remaining marinade into a small saucepan. Whisk in cornstarch and bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens to a glossy glaze (approximately 3-4 minutes). Remove from heat and transfer to a small bowl for dipping. (5 minutes)

06

Step

Grill the Satay: Grill the skewers on the preheated grill, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink in the center, about 5 minutes per side. (10 minutes)

07

Step

Serve: Garnish with sliced scallions and serve immediately with the prepared ginger-soy glaze for dipping.

For deeper flavor, marinate the chicken overnight.
If using wooden skewers, remember to soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
Adjust the amount of brown sugar to your preference for sweetness.
Serve with a side of steamed rice or a fresh salad for a complete meal.

Easy to follow and delicious. I added a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade for a little extra heat.
