Follow The Directions

01

Step

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add angel hair pasta and cook until al dente, about 4-5 minutes. Drain well, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water. (Time: 4-5 minutes)

02

Step

While the pasta is cooking, melt butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Stir in olive oil, sliced jalapeno, and red pepper flakes. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the peppers have infused the oil with their flavor, about 8-10 minutes. (Time: 8-10 minutes)

03

Step

If desired, remove the jalapeno slices for a milder heat. Pour in the white wine and simmer for another 3-5 minutes, allowing the alcohol to evaporate slightly and the sauce to reduce a bit. (Time: 3-5 minutes)

04

Step

Add the shrimp and capers to the skillet. Increase heat to medium. Cook, stirring frequently, until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through, about 3-5 minutes. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp. (Time: 3-5 minutes)

05

Step

Add the drained pasta to the shrimp mixture. Toss to coat, adding a little of the reserved pasta water if needed to create a luscious sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. (Time: 1-2 minutes)

06

Step

Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese. (Time: 0 minute)

For extra flavor, consider adding a clove or two of minced garlic to the butter and oil mixture.
Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to suit your spice preference. A pinch of cayenne pepper can also be added for an extra kick.
If you don't have white wine, chicken broth can be used as a substitute, though the flavor will be slightly different.
Serve with a side of crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
