Add Fillings and Finish: Remove the lid. Sprinkle the crumbled bacon, shredded Cheddar cheese, diced American cheese, salt, and red pepper flakes (if using) evenly over the surface of the eggs. Distribute the caramelized onions over the top. Gently swirl the skillet in a circular motion to loosen the omelet from the pan. Carefully slide the omelet onto a plate. Fold the omelet in half, allowing the residual heat to melt the cheese to gooey perfection. (Approximately 2 minutes).
