Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a food processor, finely chop the cucumber chunks. (2 minutes)

02

Step

Transfer the chopped cucumber and white onion to a piece of cheesecloth. Twist and squeeze out as much liquid as possible into a bowl, reserving the liquid. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Ensure the food processor bowl is dry. Return the cucumber and onion mixture to the processor. (1 minute)

04

Step

Add the softened cream cheese, dried dill, hot pepper sauce, green food coloring, and cayenne pepper. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Process until smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed to ensure even integration. (3 minutes)

06

Step

If the mixture is too thick, add the reserved cucumber liquid, a teaspoon at a time, until the desired consistency is achieved. (2 minutes)

07

Step

Serve immediately, or refrigerate to allow the flavors to meld for at least 30 minutes for an enhanced taste experience. (30 minutes)

For a smoother texture, ensure the cream cheese is thoroughly softened before processing.
Adjust the amount of hot pepper sauce and cayenne pepper to your preference for spiciness.
Fresh dill can be substituted for dried dill. Use 1 teaspoon of fresh dill for every 0.5 teaspoon of dried dill.
If you don't have cheesecloth, you can use a fine-mesh sieve to drain the cucumbers, though it may not be as effective at removing all the liquid.
The spread will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
