Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). (2 minutes)

02

Step

Prepare the plantain: Trim both ends, then score the skin lengthwise. Carefully peel away the skin. Cut the plantain in half crosswise, then use a vegetable peeler to create thin strips. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Lightly coat the air fryer basket with avocado oil. Arrange the plantain strips in a single layer, ensuring they don't overlap. Mist the tops of the strips with more oil. (3 minutes)

04

Step

Air fry for 7-9 minutes, then flip each strip with tongs. Continue cooking for another 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. (12 minutes)

05

Step

Immediately transfer the chips to a plate and season to taste with salt or cinnamon-sugar. Serve warm and enjoy! (1 minute)

For extra crispy chips, soak the plantain strips in ice water for 30 minutes before air frying, then pat them completely dry.
Adjust cooking time depending on the thickness of your plantain strips and the power of your air fryer. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.
Experiment with different seasonings! Try smoked paprika, garlic powder, or chili powder for a unique flavor twist.
