Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Line a 9-inch pie plate with your favorite pie crust. (5 minutes)

02

Step
5 mins

In a large mixing bowl, combine the evaporated milk, pumpkin puree, sugar, eggs, maple syrup, maple extract, cinnamon, salt, vanilla extract, and nutmeg. Use an electric mixer to blend until smooth and well combined. (5 minutes)

03

Step
2 mins

Pour the pumpkin mixture into the prepared pie crust. (2 minutes)

04

Step
10 mins

Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. (10 minutes)

05

Step
30 mins

Reduce the oven temperature to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and continue baking until a knife inserted into the center of the pie comes out clean, approximately 30 minutes. (30 minutes)

06

Step
1 hrs

Let the pie cool completely on a wire rack before serving. This allows the filling to set properly. (60 minutes)

For an extra nutty flavor, toast the pie crust for 8 minutes at 350 degrees before adding the pumpkin mixture.
If you don't have maple extract, you can substitute with an equal amount of vanilla extract or a splash of rum extract.
To prevent the crust from burning, you can cover the edges with aluminum foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.

This pie was a huge hit! The maple flavor is subtle but adds a lovely warmth.
