Follow The Directions

01

Step
10 mins

In a large skillet, crumble the ground beef over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and no longer pink (5-10 minutes). Drain off any excess grease, then transfer the cooked beef to a 4-quart or larger slow cooker.

02

Step
5 mins

Add the baked beans, crumbled bacon, chopped ham, ketchup, brown sugar, minced onion, chili powder, and molasses to the slow cooker with the ground beef. Stir well to combine all ingredients thoroughly. If the mixture appears too thick, gradually stir in water until desired consistency is reached.

03

Step
8 hrs

Cover the slow cooker and cook on Low heat for 6-8 hours, or on High heat for 3 hours, allowing the flavors to meld and deepen.

For a richer, smokier flavor, consider using smoked bacon or adding a dash of liquid smoke to the beans.
Adjust the amount of brown sugar to your preference for sweetness. Taste and add more if desired.
If you don't have a slow cooker, you can bake these beans in a Dutch oven or oven-safe dish at 325°F (160°C) for 2-3 hours, or until heated through and bubbly. Check occasionally to ensure the beans don't dry out, adding a little water if needed.

So easy and delicious! I didn't have molasses, so I used maple syrup instead, and it worked perfectly.
