Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat and Prep (10 minutes): Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Generously grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray. This will ensure easy removal and prevent sticking.

02

Step

Combine Ingredients (10 minutes): In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the ground beef, chopped onion, stuffing mix, and beaten egg. Avoid overmixing, as this can result in a tough meatloaf. Use your hands for the best results, ensuring even distribution of ingredients.

03

Step

Shape and Bake (35-40 minutes): Press the beef mixture firmly and evenly into the prepared loaf pan. Bake in the preheated oven until the meatloaf is cooked through and no longer pink in the center. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part should register at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

04

Step

Cheese and Rest (10 minutes): Once the meatloaf is cooked, remove it from the oven and top with the shredded mozzarella cheese. Return it to the oven for a minute or two, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender and flavorful meatloaf.

For extra flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce or a pinch of garlic powder to the meat mixture.
If you don't have chicken-flavored stuffing mix, you can use plain stuffing mix and add a teaspoon of chicken bouillon powder.
To prevent the meatloaf from drying out, place a pan of water on the lower rack of the oven while baking.
Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and added freshness.
Serve with mashed potatoes, your favorite roasted vegetables, or a simple green salad for a complete and satisfying meal.

My meatloaf was a little dry. Next time, I'll add a bit of milk or beef broth to the mixture.
