For a richer flavor, use a combination of Granny Smith and Honeycrisp apples in your pie filling. If you don't have almond extract, vanilla extract can be substituted. To prevent the edges from browning too quickly, cover the lasagna with foil during the last 15 minutes of baking. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
