Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

In a mixing bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and fresh lime juice. Using an electric mixer, beat the mixture until it is smooth, well combined, and slightly thickened. (Approximately 3-5 minutes)

02

Step
10 mins

Select a small baking dish, and create the first layer: evenly arrange Maria cookies to cover the bottom of the dish. Spread a generous layer of the milk mixture over the cookies, ensuring they are well coated. Repeat these layers, alternating cookies and milk mixture, ending with a final layer of the creamy milk mixture. (Approximately 15-20 minutes)

03

Step
12 hrs

Cover the baking dish tightly with plastic wrap to prevent the dessert from drying out. Refrigerate for a minimum of 5 hours, or ideally overnight, to allow the cookies to soften and the flavors to meld together beautifully. (5+ hours)

04

Step
5 mins

Once chilled and firm, remove the Postre de Limon from the refrigerator. Cut into neat squares and garnish with freshly grated lime zest for a pop of color and aroma. Serve chilled and enjoy! (Approximately 5-10 minutes)

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a splash of tequila or rum to the milk mixture.
If you can't find Maria cookies, graham crackers can be used as a substitute.
Adjust the amount of lime juice to your preference – for a tangier dessert, add more juice.
