Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

Prepare the Apple Wedges: Carefully slice each apple wedge in half lengthwise to create two thinner wedges. This will make it easier to form the 'mouth'. (Prep time: 5 minutes)

02

Step
2 mins

Apply Peanut Butter to Bottom Wedge: Spread approximately 3/4 teaspoon of peanut butter evenly on the cut side of one thin apple wedge. (Prep time: 2 minutes)

03

Step
5 mins

Insert Candy Corn 'Teeth': Gently press 5 or 6 pieces of candy corn into the peanut butter, with the pointed ends sticking out to resemble teeth. Vary the tooth placement for a more monstrous grin! (Prep time: 5 minutes)

04

Step
3 mins

Assemble the 'Mouth': Spread another 3/4 teaspoon of peanut butter on the cut side of a second thin apple wedge. Carefully press this wedge onto the candy corn teeth, with the peanut butter facing inward, to form the 'lips' of the monster bite. (Prep time: 3 minutes)

05

Step
10 mins

Repeat and Serve: Repeat steps 1-4 with the remaining apple wedges, peanut butter, and candy corn. Serve immediately and enjoy the monstrous fun! (Prep time: 10 minutes)

For a nut-free version, substitute sunflower seed butter or tahini for the peanut butter.
If you're making these ahead of time, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator to prevent the apples from browning. A squeeze of lemon juice on the cut apples can also help.
Get creative with your 'teeth'! Use other small candies like chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, or even slivered almonds for a different look.
For added flair, sprinkle the peanut butter with edible glitter before adding the candy corn.

Next time, I'm going to try adding a little bit of cinnamon to the peanut butter for extra flavor.

I used almond butter instead of peanut butter and they were still delicious!

I found it easier to use a piping bag to apply the peanut butter. It was less messy!

The candy corn teeth kept falling out, but we just used more peanut butter to secure them!
