Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a medium saucepan, gently mash the hulled strawberries using a potato masher until a chunky consistency is achieved. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In the same saucepan, combine the mashed strawberries with lemon juice, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and sea salt. Stir well to ensure all ingredients are fully incorporated. (2 minutes)

03

Step

Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously to prevent scorching, until the mixture comes to a gentle boil. (8-10 minutes)

04

Step

Once boiling, remove the saucepan immediately from the heat. Allow the strawberry sauce to cool to room temperature, during which time it will thicken slightly. (30 minutes)

For a smoother sauce, use an immersion blender after cooking.
Adjust the amount of sugar to your preference depending on the sweetness of the strawberries.
This sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or frozen for longer storage.
