Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step

Lightly coat a 9-inch square baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

03

Step

In a medium bowl, gently combine the ground turkey, Italian-style bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, minced garlic, black pepper, and salt. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix. (10 minutes)

04

Step

Shape the mixture into a loaf and carefully place it in the prepared baking dish.

05

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the meatloaf is mostly cooked through.

06

Step

Pour the tomato sauce evenly over the meatloaf and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes.

07

Step

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the top of the meatloaf. Bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of the meatloaf registers at least 160 degrees F (71 degrees C), approximately 5 more minutes. (10 minutes)

08

Step

Let the meatloaf rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

For an extra layer of flavor, sauté 1/2 cup of finely diced onions and 1 clove of garlic until softened before adding them to the meatloaf mixture.
Feel free to substitute the ground turkey with ground chicken or a combination of ground beef and pork.
If you don't have Italian-style bread crumbs, you can use plain bread crumbs and add an extra teaspoon of Italian seasoning.
Serve with a side of roasted vegetables or a fresh garden salad for a complete and satisfying meal.
