For a deeper ginger flavor, use 1/2 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger instead of ground ginger.
If you don't have honey, maple syrup makes a delicious substitute.
A pinch of red pepper flakes adds a nice touch of heat.
For a richer flavor, brown the butter before adding the other ingredients.
