Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet to prevent sticking. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a mixing bowl, gently combine the ground beef, panko bread crumbs, beaten egg, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 2 cloves of minced garlic, and 1 teaspoon of minced ginger. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in tough meatballs. Shape the mixture into approximately 1 1/2-inch balls and arrange them evenly on the prepared baking sheet. (10 minutes)

03

Step

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of a meatball registers 160 degrees F (71 degrees C). (12 minutes)

04

Step

While the meatballs are baking, prepare the hoisin glaze. In a large saucepan, whisk together the hoisin sauce, honey, minced green onion, rice vinegar, sesame oil, the remaining 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 clove of minced garlic, and 1/2 teaspoon of minced ginger. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has slightly reduced and thickened, about 5 minutes. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the sauce in a small bowl for the green beans. Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the saucepan with the remaining sauce and cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. (7 minutes)

05

Step

While the meatballs are simmering in the glaze, heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the trimmed green beans and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are tender and lightly blistered, about 4 to 5 minutes. Add the reserved 2 tablespoons of hoisin glaze to the green beans and stir to coat them evenly. (5 minutes)

06

Step

Serve the hoisin-glazed meatballs and green beans over hot cooked white rice. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onion for added flavor and visual appeal. Enjoy! (5 minutes)

For a richer flavor, use dark soy sauce instead of regular soy sauce.
If you like a little heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the hoisin glaze.
To prevent the meatballs from sticking to your hands while shaping them, lightly moisten your hands with water.
The meatballs can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking.
Serve with brown rice or quinoa for a healthier option.
