Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a bowl, whisk together maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, sesame oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, chipotle powder, oregano, paprika, cayenne pepper, and celery salt until well combined. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Place the chicken breasts in a resealable bag or a shallow dish. Pour the maple-chipotle marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight for maximum flavor infusion. (1 hour - Overnight)

03

Step

Preheat your outdoor grill to medium heat (about 350-450°F or 175-230°C) and lightly oil the grill grate to prevent sticking. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before grilling. This helps ensure even cooking. (15 minutes)

05

Step

Place the chicken breasts on the preheated grill. Cook for approximately 6-8 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). During the last few minutes of grilling, brush the chicken with the remaining marinade to create a luscious glaze. Be careful not to burn the chicken from the sugar in the maple syrup. (12-16 minutes)

06

Step

Once the chicken is fully cooked, remove it from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in more tender and flavorful meat. (5 minutes)

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of Dijon mustard to the marinade.
If you don't have an outdoor grill, you can also cook the chicken in a grill pan on your stovetop or bake it in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 20-25 minutes.
Serve the grilled chicken with a side of quinoa or rice and a fresh salad for a complete and satisfying meal.
Adjust the amount of chipotle powder to your preferred level of spiciness. Start with less and add more to taste.
