Follow The Directions

01

Step

Prepare the Grill: Preheat your outdoor grill to medium-high heat. Ensure the grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the ground beef, Italian sausage, chopped red onion, Anaheim chile peppers, minced garlic, shredded Muenster cheese, egg, Worcestershire sauce, and chili powder. Season generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix. (10 minutes)

03

Step

Form the Patties: Divide the meat mixture evenly and form into 8 equally-sized patties. Gently flatten each patty to about 3/4-inch thickness. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Grill the Burgers: Place the patties on the preheated grill. Cook for approximately 7 minutes per side, or until the burgers are cooked through and no longer pink in the center. For a perfectly cooked burger, an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should register 160 degrees F (70 degrees C). (14 minutes)

05

Step

Rest and Serve: Remove the burgers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender and flavorful burger. Serve on your favorite buns with desired toppings.

For an extra smoky flavor, consider adding a handful of wood chips to your grill. Soak the wood chips in water for about 30 minutes before placing them on the coals or in a smoker box.
Feel free to adjust the amount of chili powder and chile peppers to suit your preferred level of spice.
To prevent the cheese from melting too much during grilling, ensure the patties are well-sealed and the grill temperature is not too high.
These burgers are also excellent when cooked in a cast-iron skillet on the stovetop.
