Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8-inch square baking dish with cooking spray. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a large bowl, combine sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition to ensure a perfectly emulsified batter. (10 minutes)

03

Step

In a separate bowl, whisk together cornstarch, cocoa powder, and salt. Sift this dry mixture over the sugar-butter mixture. Gently fold in with a wooden spoon or spatula until just combined, being careful not to overmix. Fold in the chopped dark chocolate, ensuring it's evenly distributed throughout the batter. Allow the batter to rest for 5 minutes to allow the cornstarch to fully hydrate. (10 minutes)

04

Step

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs, about 20 minutes. (20 minutes)

06

Step

Remove from the oven and let cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares. This allows the brownies to set properly, resulting in a cleaner cut and fudgier texture. (15 minutes)

For an even richer flavor, use high-quality dark chocolate with a cocoa content of 70% or higher.
Do not overbake. Overbaking will result in dry brownies.
For a chewier brownie, underbake slightly.
For best results, let the brownies cool completely before cutting.
Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
