Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a large, heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion and bell pepper and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. (Total time: ~6 minutes)

02

Step

Stir in the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, white wine, tomato paste, parsley, basil, oregano, red pepper flakes (if using), and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. (Total time: ~21 minutes)

03

Step

Gently stir in the shrimp and fish. Arrange the clams and mussels in the pot, ensuring they are partially submerged in the liquid. Cover and cook until the clams and mussels have opened and the shrimp and fish are cooked through, about 7-10 minutes. Discard any clams or mussels that do not open. (Total time: ~31 minutes)

04

Step

Ladle the Cioppino into bowls, ensuring each serving includes a variety of seafood and plenty of broth. Serve immediately.

For a richer flavor, use seafood stock instead of chicken broth.
Feel free to add other seafood, such as crab legs or scallops, to the Cioppino.
Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to suit your spice preference.
Serve with crusty garlic bread or grilled sourdough for dipping into the flavorful broth.
Ensure all seafood is fresh and of high quality for the best results.
If you don't have fresh parsley, 2 tablespoons of dried parsley can be used as a substitute.
