Follow The Directions

01

Step
15 mins

Prepare the Peas: Place a steamer insert into a saucepan and fill with water to just below the bottom of the steamer. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Add the frozen peas, cover the saucepan, and steam until the peas are tender, about 15 minutes.

02

Step
5 mins

Puree the Mixture: Transfer the steamed peas and breast milk (or formula) into a blender or food processor. Puree until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. For the smoothest texture, strain the puree through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any remaining lumps or skins.

03

Step
3 hrs

Freeze for Later: Carefully spoon the pea puree into an ice cube tray. Cover the tray with plastic wrap to prevent freezer burn and freeze until the cubes are solid, approximately 2 to 3 hours. Once frozen, transfer the pea cubes to a resealable plastic bag, label with the date, and store in the freezer for future use.

04

Step
1 mins

Serve: When ready to serve, heat the desired number of pea cubes in the microwave for about 30 seconds, or until warmed through but not hot. Stir thoroughly to ensure even temperature distribution before serving to your baby.

For a thinner consistency, add a bit more breast milk or formula.
Fresh peas can be used, but frozen peas are often sweeter and more convenient.
Always test the temperature of the food before serving to your baby.

Great recipe! I substituted formula for breast milk and it worked just as well. Thanks for making a healthy option so accessible.
