Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat & Prep (5 minutes): Gather all ingredients. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

02

Step

Combine & Shape (10 minutes): In a mixing bowl, stir together the devil's food cake mix and chilled Dr. Pepper until a sticky dough forms. Lightly coat your hands with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Roll the dough into tablespoon-sized balls. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet and gently press down on the tops to slightly flatten them.

03

Step

Bake (8-9 minutes): Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 9 minutes, or until the edges are just baked and the centers remain soft. Avoid overbaking for the best texture.

04

Step

Cool & Glaze (15 minutes): Let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack set over parchment paper or a baking sheet to catch drips. In a separate bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, coconut milk, lime zest, and salt until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cookies. Allow the glaze to set slightly before serving.

For a richer chocolate flavor, add 1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder to the cake mix.
Feel free to experiment with different soda flavors! Cherry cola or root beer would also be delicious.
Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
