In a separate bowl, combine 1/4 cup sugar, 2 1/2 tablespoons flour, and 2 tablespoons cold butter. Use your fingers or a pastry blender to cut the butter into the flour and sugar until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs; sprinkle evenly over the batter. (7 minutes)

Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, approximately 55 to 60 minutes. (60 minutes)

Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. (10 minutes)

For a richer flavor, use brown butter instead of regular butter in the topping.
If using frozen blueberries, do not thaw them before folding them into the batter to prevent the batter from turning blue.
Store the cooled bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
