For a richer flavor, use beef broth in place of some of the cream of mushroom soup. Add a splash of dry sherry or white wine to the sauce for extra depth. If you don't have liquid smoke, a pinch of smoked paprika can add a similar smoky flavor. To make it healthier, you can use ground turkey or chicken instead of ground beef. You can also use low-fat sour cream. This recipe is easily doubled or tripled for a larger crowd.
