Follow The Directions

01

Step
1 hrs

Marinate the salmon: Place salmon fillets in a resealable bag or a shallow dish. Pour lemon juice over the salmon, ensuring it's evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to 4 hours. (1 hour)

02

Step
5 mins

Prepare the oven and baking dish: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking dish with aluminum foil, leaving enough overhang to easily lift the salmon out after baking. Spray the foil generously with cooking spray to prevent sticking. (5 minutes)

03

Step
5 mins

Make the barbeque spice glaze: In a small blender or food processor, combine brown sugar, chili powder, lemon zest, vegetable oil, cumin, cinnamon, and salt. Pulse until the mixture is smooth and well combined. (5 minutes)

04

Step
5 mins

Glaze and bake the salmon: Remove salmon from the marinade and discard the bag and lemon juice. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Spread the barbeque spice glaze evenly over the top of each salmon fillet. Place the glazed salmon fillets in the prepared baking dish. (5 minutes)

05

Step
15 mins

Bake until cooked through: Bake in the preheated oven until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C), approximately 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets. (12-15 minutes)

06

Step
0 mins

Serve: Carefully lift the salmon out of the baking dish using the foil overhang. Serve immediately.

For best results, use fresh, high-quality salmon fillets.
Adjust the amount of chili powder to your preference for heat.
If you don't have a blender, you can whisk the glaze ingredients together in a bowl, ensuring the brown sugar is well dissolved.
Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro for added freshness.
Serve with a side of roasted vegetables, quinoa, or a fresh salad for a complete and balanced meal.
