Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray or line with parchment paper. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and baking soda until evenly combined. (2 minutes)

03

Step

Add the buttermilk and eggs to the dry ingredients. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds to incorporate, then increase the speed to high and beat for 1 minute. The dough will be quite sticky, resembling a thick frosting. (2 minutes)

04

Step

With thoroughly wet hands (this prevents the dough from sticking excessively), scoop out 6 to 8 equal portions of dough. Gently place them onto the prepared baking sheet, shaping each portion into a slightly mounded bun. (5 minutes)

05

Step

Re-wet your fingers and carefully smooth the tops and sides of each bun to create a uniform shape. If desired, sprinkle generously with sesame seeds for added flavor and visual appeal. (3 minutes)

06

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the buns are beautifully golden brown and spring back lightly when touched. (15 minutes)

07

Step

Remove from the oven and allow the buns to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing lengthwise. Serve with your favorite burgers, grilled chicken, fish, or vegetable patties. Enjoy! (20 minutes)

For an enriched flavor, brush the tops of the buns with melted butter before baking.
If you don't have buttermilk, you can substitute it with regular milk soured with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or white vinegar per cup.
These buns are best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or frozen for longer storage. Reheat gently before serving.
