Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, cilantro, green onions, ground chipotle peppers, lime juice, garlic basil spread, cumin, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.

02

Step

Preheat your oven to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C).

03

Step

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced onions, red pepper flakes, and oregano. Stir until the onions begin to soften, approximately 5 minutes. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste. Incorporate half of the jalapeno pepper rings and cook until they soften slightly, about 2 to 3 minutes. Set aside the remaining jalapeno rings.

04

Step

Spread each ciabatta roll with 1 tablespoon of sweet hot mustard and 2 tablespoons of chipotle mayonnaise. Evenly distribute the Swiss cheese slices, roast pork loin slices, ham slices, dill pickle strips, and remaining jalapeno rings among the four sandwiches. Top each with the cooked onion mixture.

05

Step

Place the assembled sandwiches onto a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted and warm, approximately 4 to 5 minutes.

For an extra layer of flavor, consider marinating the pork loin overnight in a citrus-garlic marinade.
Adjust the amount of chipotle peppers to control the level of spice in the mayonnaise.
If you don't have garlic basil spread, you can substitute with a mixture of minced garlic, fresh basil, and a touch of olive oil.
For a crispier sandwich, press the sandwiches in a panini press or skillet after baking.
