Follow The Directions

01

Step
30 mins

In a baking dish, arrange the chicken breasts. Combine tequila and the juice of half a lime. Sprinkle half of the lime zest, garlic powder, and chili powder over the chicken. Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

02

Step
30 mins

Turn the chicken breasts over. Sprinkle the remaining lime juice, lime zest, garlic powder, and chili powder evenly on top. Cover again and continue to marinate in the refrigerator for another 30 minutes.

03

Step
5 mins

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Remove the chicken from the refrigerator and discard the tequila-lime marinade.

04

Step
25 mins

Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle the Mexican-style cheese blend evenly over the chicken. Return to the oven and continue baking until the chicken is no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 10 minutes more. Ensure an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center registers at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

For an extra depth of flavor, consider grilling the chicken instead of baking. Marinate as directed, then grill over medium heat until cooked through.
Adjust the amount of chili powder to your liking, depending on how spicy you want the dish.
Serve with a side of cilantro-lime rice and a fresh avocado salsa for a complete and satisfying meal.
