Follow The Directions

01

Step

Reserve 3 to 4 strawberries for garnish; slice half of the remaining strawberries into a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar and the juice of 1 lemon to the sliced strawberries; stir to combine. Set aside to macerate. (Prep time: 10 minutes)

02

Step

Combine the remaining strawberries, 2 1/2 tablespoons of sugar, and the remaining juice of 1 lemon in a blender; blend until smooth. (Prep time: 5 minutes)

03

Step

Transfer the strawberry purée to a small saucepan; cook over low heat, stirring often, until thickened to a sauce-like consistency, about 5 to 10 minutes. Taste the sauce; add more sugar if not sweet enough and add water if it's too thick. Cool completely. (Cook time: 15 minutes, Cooling time: 30 minutes)

04

Step

Beat the cream cheese and the remaining 2 1/2 tablespoons of sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. (Prep time: 5 minutes)

05

Step

Whip the heavy cream in a separate bowl until soft peaks form; gently fold it into the cream cheese mixture. (Prep time: 5 minutes)

06

Step

Arrange the ladyfingers in a snug, single layer in a square glass baking dish. Pour half of the strawberry sauce over the ladyfingers; spread half of the cream cheese mixture on top. Scatter half of the macerated strawberries on top of the cream cheese mixture. Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers, sauce, and macerated strawberries. Spread the remaining cream mixture evenly over the top; garnish with the reserved strawberries. (Assembly time: 20 minutes)

07

Step

Cover the tiramisu with plastic wrap; refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld together. (Refrigeration time: 4 hours or more)

For a richer flavor, use mascarpone cheese instead of cream cheese.
If you don't have fresh strawberries, you can use frozen ones. Just make sure to thaw them completely and drain any excess liquid before using.
To make this tiramisu even more decadent, you can add a layer of chocolate shavings or cocoa powder on top.
