Follow The Directions

01

Step
2 mins

In a large pitcher, combine the rum and sugar. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved. (2 minutes)

02

Step
3 mins

Add the apple, orange, lemon, and lime slices to the pitcher. Gently muddle the fruit with a wooden spoon to release their juices, being careful not to pulverize them. (3 minutes)

03

Step
1 mins

Pour in the red wine and orange juice. Stir gently to combine. (1 minute)

04

Step
2 hrs

Refrigerate the sangria for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld. (120 minutes)

05

Step
1 mins

Just before serving, add the chilled lemon-lime soda. Stir gently to incorporate. (1 minute)

06

Step

Serve the sangria over ice, garnishing each glass with a slice of fruit from the pitcher.

For a sweeter sangria, increase the amount of sugar to taste.
If you prefer a less sweet sangria, use a dry red wine and reduce the amount of sugar.
Feel free to experiment with other fruits, such as berries, peaches, or grapes.
For a stronger sangria, add a splash of brandy or triple sec.
The sangria can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Add the lemon-lime soda just before serving to maintain its fizz.
