For a milder rub, reduce the amount of cayenne pepper. Feel free to adjust the sugar content to your preference. Dark brown sugar can be substituted for light brown sugar for a richer molasses flavor. This rub is excellent on ribs, chicken wings, pork shoulder, and brisket. It also adds a delicious depth of flavor to roasted vegetables like potatoes and sweet potatoes.

Jun 22, 2025Great recipe. I halved the cayenne, as I'm spice-sensitive, and it was perfect for my family.
