Add the rinsed rice and salt, stirring constantly for 1 minute until each grain is coated in butter and begins to turn translucent.

Pour in the chicken stock or water, stir once to ensure no rice is sticking to the bottom, and bring to a rolling boil. (5 minutes)

Reduce the heat to a gentle simmer (medium-low), cover tightly, and cook undisturbed for 17 minutes, or until all the liquid has been absorbed.

Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes to allow the rice to fully steam. (5 minutes)

Fluff gently with a fork before serving.

For an extra layer of flavor, try using vegetable broth instead of chicken stock or water.
Rinsing the rice before cooking removes excess starch, resulting in a fluffier texture.
Do not lift the lid during the simmering process, as this will release steam and affect the cooking time.
For brown rice, increase the cooking time to approximately 45 minutes and adjust the liquid accordingly.
