Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking pan. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. This ensures even distribution of the leavening agents. (3 minutes)

03

Step

In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, until well combined, creating a smooth and creamy mixture. Gradually beat in the flour mixture until just combined, being careful not to overmix. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of the butterscotch chips and the rolled oats. (10 minutes)

04

Step

Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of butterscotch chips evenly over the top. (5 minutes)

05

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into 24 bars. (35 minutes)

For a richer flavor, use browned butter instead of softened butter. Allow the browned butter to cool slightly before creaming it with the sugars.
To prevent the butterscotch chips from sinking to the bottom, toss them with a tablespoon of flour before adding them to the dough.
Store leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
